Common Mistakes Teens Make Using Face Wipes

Why Use Face Wipes?

Face cleansing wipes can be a kid’s best friend…. when used gently on the skin. They can remove sweat after gym class to prevent pimples. Using acne face wipes is a great way to prep the skin before using a face wash. There are some little tricks for getting the job done right! Here’s exactly what to do and what to avoid.

Mistake #1: Wiping too hard. You don’t need to apply so much pressure when using good wipes. Instead, use medium pressure and wipe in a long, downward motion to avoid tugging on your skin.

Mistake #2: Wiping your eyes after you’ve wiped other areas of your face. When using facial wipes, especially face wipes for oily skin, you’re effectively removing grime and excess oils. So when you motion to your eyes, make sure the part of the wipe that you’re using is completely clean to prevent bacteria and other gunk from getting into your eyes. An easy solution to avoid this is to wipe your eyes first before cleaning the rest of your face.

Mistake #3: Rubbing the wipes along the waterline of eyes. Using face wipes directly under your eye is a major no-no because this area is arguably one of the most delicate spots of your face, so it’s best to go easy on the eyes in general. It’s best to gently wipe over the upper lid, working from the inside corners outward.

Mistake #4: Skipping your jawline. Your jawline is one of the easiest areas to forget about, which is why many teens tend to break out around the jaw or chin, especially when wearing makeup. Just be sure to clean around the areas you tend to forget about the most!

Mistake #5: Reusing the same wipe. Especially if you had on makeup, do not reuse the same wipe the next day or even hours later.  After you finish using face wipes, it’ll be holding all the excess oils and dirt your face collected throughout the day. The worst thing you can do to your skin is to then wipe those same oils and dirt back into your pores, which can later cause a breakout. Do your skin a favor and only use clean face products!
